Featured Artists
Here are some of the most remarkable artists I’ve encountered. Each of them has a unique approach, distinct style, and extraordinary creativity. They are truly worth your attention and admiration.
Luis Royo
Luis Royo, born in 1954 in Olalla, Spain, began his artistic journey in Zaragoza, studying technical design, painting, and interior design. He first gained attention in comic art in the late 1970s, with his work appearing in major magazines and eventually compiled into books. By the 1980s, he shifted focus to illustration, achieving global fame with books like Women (1992), Malefic (1994), Secrets (1996), and III Millennium (1998). His art has been featured on a wide range of products, including posters, tarot cards, and sculptures, making him a cultural icon with works translated into multiple languages.
Royo’s art is known for its rich, fantastical, and often erotic themes, depicting intense emotional depth and beauty at the edge of tragedy. His use of color and depiction of human figures, particularly women, exudes a soulful brilliance that captivates viewers. Over the years, his style has evolved to be more poetic, focusing on the tension between beauty and darkness, often playing on the myth of "beauty and the beast."
In a personal metaphor, Royo describes his artistic journey through "windows" representing different phases of his life. From childhood discovery to adulthood's creative struggles, these windows reflect his evolving perspective on art. For Royo, each artwork is a window into a new world, where imagination and reality merge. His lifelong dedication to opening these windows has resulted in a body of work that resonates globally, inviting viewers to explore the beauty, tragedy, and fantasy he so masterfully captures.
Why he inspires me-
Growing up, I didn’t have the easiest time. My childhood was filled with struggles, and I often felt like my world was in chaos. But there was one escape I could always turn to—Luis Royo’s artwork. His detailed scenes of Armageddon captured the destruction and turmoil I felt inside, but what stood out to me the most was the defiant figure that often appeared in the center of his pieces. That character, standing strong amidst the ruins, resonated deeply with me. It made me feel like I, too, could be defiant, that I could endure and never give up, no matter what life threw at me.
Royo's artwork offered me solace, and his posters that adorned my walls became a window to another world. They helped me process my emotions and gave me hope. Because of this, Luis Royo will always hold a special place in my heart. As an artist today, I feel honored to share his influence and how his work continues to inspire me and others.

Vince Low
Vince Low is a Malaysian artist renowned for his unique scribble art style. He was born in Kuala Lumpur and discovered his dyslexia while working on a project for a dyslexia awareness campaign.
Low's dyslexia has significantly influenced his art. Unable to rely on traditional learning methods, he embraced experimentation and creativity. His scribble art portraits, created with intricate pen strokes, capture the essence of famous figures like Madonna, Kobe Bryant, and John Lennon.
Low's work has been exhibited internationally, and he continues to draw inspiration from his experiences and encounters with others. Beyond his artistic pursuits, he is a passionate musician, runner, and gym enthusiast.
Why They Inspire Me:
Vince Low inspires me because, like him, I was born with dyslexia, and reading and writing have always been difficult for me. Growing up, I struggled in school and often felt like a failure. It wasn’t until I made it to college that I discovered Vince’s work. Seeing another artist who faced similar challenges yet still managed to succeed was a game changer for me. His ability to turn something that once held him back into a source of creativity gave me hope that I could find my own voice through art.
I was particularly drawn to how he creates beautiful value transitions using squiggly lines. It made me wonder if I could tell stories through words and linework, despite my struggles with writing. This realization sparked a creative journey for me, where I experimented with art made from words, blending line concentration techniques with my passion for storytelling. Thanks to Vince, I found a way to express myself and improve my reading and studying skills in the process. I owe a lot of my growth as an artist to his influence. Thank you, Vince Low.
