Artist Affirmations

Dear Fellow Artists,

In the rollercoaster ride of creativity, there are moments when we all could use a little extra support. As an artist deeply passionate about our community, I'm excited to announce a new initiative aimed at spreading positivity and offering affirmations to those who may be struggling on their artistic journey.

Introducing "Artists' Affirmations.

This new endeavor is dedicated to providing regular affirmations, uplifting messages, and a supportive space for artists who may be facing challenges such as creative blocks, self-doubt, or simply needing a boost of encouragement. I will try to keep each one organized with a letter of the alphabet. Easier, I think for everyone that way.

New to Affirmations? Find Your Calm

Want to feel more positive and focused? I recommend using a Buddhist singing bell. Easiest way to quiet and calm the mind. Here's a simple way to use affirmations with a singing bowl

1. Find your cozy spot: Sit or lie down comfy, somewhere quiet.

2. Ring the bowl (at least twice!): Gently tap the rim to make a deep sound. Listen closely as it fades. Listen and try to pin point the EXACT moment the sound fades. This is like magic for calming the mind –it is like magic! Do this AT LEAST twice, more is better but I recommend at least twice for more benefit of the bell and affirmations.

3. Recite the Affirmation: Choose an affirmation from the list below, visualize a picture in your mind the the affirmation might invoke. Make sure that the words and image you visualize is something you feel like you really resonate with, and recite the positive statement out loud.

Pro tip- say it out loud, it might feel silly at first  but there are real reasons for it. Saying it out loud helps a person focus on the words. This is  because there is an action (speaking) and hearing (listening to your own voice) component. This helps a person's mind from wandering and keeps the mind on the the intention and the words being recited.

4. Repeat & Imagine: Repeat the above process a few times. You want to do this with intention as well. Just saying words does nothing, but saying the words with a strong intention puts those words deep into the subconscious. Imagine yourself feeling that way!

Bonus Tips:

    • Take slow breaths.
    • Play calming music (optional).
    • Start short (5 min) and build up.

This simple practice can help you relax, feel good, and focus on your goals. Happy calming! Below are a list of affirmations I have personally written for artists needing a little extra help.
